Rachana Banerjee is an Indian actress who works in Bengali and Telugu movies. She was born on 2 Oct 1978 in Kolkata. Her original name was Jhumjhum Banerjee. She won Miss Kolkatta’s title in 1994. Her first movie was ‘Daan Pratidaan’ in 1993. She also acted in the Hindi movie ‘Suryavansham’ in 1999. She also hosted the TV show ‘Didi No. 1’ on Zee Bangla. Her religion Hinduism. Her husband’s name is Mr.siddhanta Mahapatra who is an actor, politician by profession and she had divorced him in 2004 and married again to Mr. Probal Basu who is deputy manager of TATA AIG IN 2007. She has one son whose name is Pronil Basu.
She has won five beauty contest in India. Rachna Banerjee won Miss Kolkata in 1994. She has done 35 Bengali films with Prosenjit Chatterjee and she has also worked in sooryavansham with Amitabh Bachchan. She is also a good tv anchor and won Tele Cine Award for the best anchor for hosting a Bengali nonfiction tv show “Didi No.1″
