About Bikanervala:
n 1950, two members of the Lalji family moved to Delhi to explore new ways to expand their traditional businesses. Initially, the Aggarwal brothers set up a tent in Chandni Chowk under the name Bikaner Bhujia Bhandar in Paranthe Wali Gali. In the 1960s, they expanded their product line to include more varieties of traditional sweets and namkeens, and opened several stores like Bikanervala in prominent parts of Delhi, including Karol Bagh. The current managing director of Bikanervala Foods Pvt Ltd, Shyam Sundar Aggarwal, joined the family company in 1968. Then, at the age of 16, he had just finished high school. In the 1980s, when Western fast-food pizza entered the Indian market, Aggarwal realized that there was room to explore more Indian products, so Bikanervala opened several outlets in various parts of the country. In 1988, to take the brand globally, they launched Bikano to sell sweets and namkeens in airtight packaging. In 1995, Bikanervala signed an exclusive agreement to produce namkeens for PepsiCo’s Lehar brand, opening a new factory in Faridabad, Haryana.
While Bikanervala’s packaged food products, including sweets and namkeens, are sold under the Bikano brand, the company opened Bikano Chat Cafes (2003), which are fast-service restaurants that serve fast food with minimal table service. this shop and Angan restaurants serve traditional Indian snacks, sweets and namkeens. shop has also launched a boutique hotel in Banjara Hills in Hyderabad.
