Prabhdeep Gill is a Punjabi singer born in 1975. He is a Canadian politician and a Member of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta. He was selected in the 2016 Calgary Greenway by-election to reinstate Manmeet Bhullar, who had died in a car accident b/w Edmonton and Calgary.
Prabhdeep won the submission for the PC nominee in the 2016 Calgary Greenway byelection, after obtaining first selected by the party. The initial placement drew discussion, as it emerged that the party demonstration was anticipating an open submission process. As so, Gill’s first nomination was eliminated by interim leader Ric McIver, though he got the appointment by-election two days after. Gill was selected in the by-election with 27.73% of the public vote, achieving four points forward of Devinder Toor, the Wildrose Party nominee, and nearly 8 points forward of Roop Rai, the New Democrat nominee, whose party held a bulk in the Legislature at that point. Gill’s by-election victory allowed the PC to manage its congressional caucus of 9 segments.
