About Vijay:

Actor Vijay studied at Fatima Matriculation Higher Secondary School and completed his studies from Balalok Matriculation Higher Secondary School. After finishing his studies, Vijay enrolled at Loyola College to pursue his degree in Visual Communication. However, he dropped out of school as he wanted to focus more on his acting career. At the age of 10, he made his debut as a child actor in the film Vetri (1984) directed by his father SA Chandrasekhar.

Actor Vijay acted as a child artist in films such as Kudumbam (1984), Vasant Ragam (1986), Sattam Oru Vilayattu (1987) and Itthu Angle Neethi (1988). In 1985, he again worked as a child artist in the film Naan Sigappu Manithan starring Rajinikanth. In 1992, he made his debut as an actor in the film Nalaiya Therapu. In 1949, his film Poov Unakkaga, directed by Vikraman, became a revolutionary film for Vijay and made him an iconic star.

After that, he gave a series of super-hits including Vasant Vassal, Manbumigu Manavan, Kalamelam Kathiruppan and Selva. Vijay won the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Actor for his films Kadhalukku Mariyadhai and Thulladha Manamam Thullam. In 2002, Vijay starred in the film Thamizan opposite Priyanka Chopra.

It was Priyanka’s debut as an actress before she entered Bollywood and became one of the leading actresses. His film, Gilli, released in 2004, became the first Tamil film to cross 500 million at the national box office. Vijay’s film, Pokkiri, directed by Prabhu Deva, became the third highest grossing film of the year 2007 and became the first Tamil film to be screened in theaters in Kerala for a full 100 days.
