The Diamond Heiress, Philanthropist, Entrepreneur And Style Queen Who Stole Akash’s Heart
Despite being set to take over her family’s company, jewelers Rosie Blue, as co-founder of volunteer platform ConnectFor Shloka Mehta-Ambani’s real passion is helping others, from NGOs to street kids.
Last year, little-known Shloka Mehta-Ambani rose to global stardom when she married Akash Ambani, son of India’s richest man, Mukesh Ambani, and heir to the family business. Now a household name, Shloka quickly gained a following thanks to her smart fashion sense, dazzling jewelry and philanthropic work.

Mehta was already famous among India’s glitter. Daughter of diamondaire Russell and Mona Mehta, her parents own Rosie Blue, one of the largest jewelry stores in the world. The Indo-Belgian company, which trades rough and polished diamonds, has offices in 12 countries, including Belgium, Israel, Japan, Hong Kong, the United States and China. It is reported that his own family’s net worth is $300 million.
She married her childhood sweetheart:
In an interview with Vogue India, Akash’s sister, Isha Ambani, Shloka has always been a part of the family for us. The two heiresses have been best friends for 25 years and the same goes for her now husband. Akash and Shloka have attended the family’s prestigious Dhirubhai Ambani International School since the age of four, dated for a few years after they were old enough, and eventually became engaged in Goa.
Last year, the materially blessed couple got married in a Bollywood fairytale wedding that took place in Mumbai and St. Moritz, Switzerland – complete with musical performances by Chris Martin and The Chainsmokers. The wedding reception attracted several Bollywood celebrities and even Google CEO Sundar Pichai.
While studying at the family’s school in Mumbai, Mehta spent time providing community service as part of the curriculum, an experience she credits as igniting her future passion for social services, further enhanced by earning a bachelor’s degree in anthropology in the States United from Princeton University and a Masters degree from the London School of Economics (LSE). After completing her studies, young Shloka returned to India and ran the philanthropic arm of the family business.

In 2016, Mehta and her friend Maniti Modi co-founded ConnectFor, an online platform that matches volunteers with selected NGOs matching their skills and needs. According to its website, ConnectFor has combined more than 24,989 volunteers and organizations to date and been awarded the title of Best NGO Start-up by Ketto, Asia’s largest crowdfunding platform.
From the gorgeous pink Sabyasachi lehenga to the ivory chikankari of the Ambani family’s favorite designers Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla, Mehta’s style is as elegant as you’d expect. The 30-year-old doesn’t just sport elegant Indian outfits, she also fits unexpected outfits like the gorgeous black Elie Saab jumpsuit she paired with a Judith Leiber arm bag for a benefit last December.
